BREAKING NEWS FOR OCTOBER 1st, 2009 - NEW FOUR LETTER WORD ALBUM!
Out of the blue and almost exactly 2 years to the day since Newest Industry put its last release out (the FOUR LETTER WORD 7" "Staring Down The Barrel") I am seriously happy to announce that I'm joint releasing the fourth FOUR LETTER WORD album "Follow As The Crow Flies",which features 10 brand new songs recorded and mastered by Frankie Stubbs of LEATHERFACE (you can hear three tracks right now on the player!) with the truly legendary and awesome Boss Tuneage Records! Welly from the band wrote a little blurb about it for some websites, but I'll just give you my honest opinion on it - it's a classic! If anything it's much more of a direct sequel to "Zero Visibility" due mainly to the return of original lead guitarist Jon Butler. The sound on "Follow As The Crow Flies" is familiar, yet more concise than their past albums, and coming at you with 10 tracks in just under 33 minutes the band has really cut out the filler and gone straight for the jugular. If you're a fan of the band, or just the sound and outlook of Newest Industry as a whole, you'll absolutely love this record! The album is available on CD, and only a few hundred have been pressed up at the moment due to "the credit crunch", so make sure you don't miss out! I've been playing it on repeat for the last couple of weeks, and I am sure you will too.
ORDER "FOLLOW AS THE CROW FLIES", GET 3 CD's AND A 7" FOR FREE!!!
So if you don't already know, the new FOUR LETTER WORD album will be with us in about 10 days (it's at the pressing plant and all paid for, so this isn't some "months in advance" pre-order nonsense.) For a limited time if you order the album (from any territory) you'll get their "Staring Down The Barrel" 7" (split release with Damaged Records / No Idea) plus any THREE CD's from the Newest Industry catalogue! SERIOUSLY!!! And you can choose which ones you want! (you just have to remember to put a note in your PayPal order)... I'm not sure how long this deal will last (probably until we sell out of 7"'s so not crazy long) so order ASAP and get FOUR ALBUMS and a 7" for just £8.00 post-paid in the UK (£9.00 Europe / £10.00 Rest of World)... not only will you get a great new album, you'll also be helping me clear some space in the office!

INTRODUCING 40 HELLS (EX-BLACK COUGAR SHOCK UNIT)
Coming out of Atlanta, USA is the immense 40 HELLS, featuring Joel Perdue - BLACK COUGAR SHOCK UNIT's final drummer - as well Shane Secor (Guitar / Vocals) They've been demoing some new stuff over the last year or so, and the news just in is that they're all done with recording and mastering, and are now finalising the details of the sleeve design for their debut 7". This would be exciting news anyway, but the fact that Newest Industry will also be involved obviously makes it ten times as awesome for me personally. Having been through some pretty turbulent experiences on the road with Joel in the past, and knowing just how genuinely punk rock and sincere the guy is - and of course, what a great drummer he is - it means a lot to me to be involved with his latest project. The guy is the living epitome of the BLACK FLAG work ethic - walking the walk, not just talking the talk. In these super fast, internet driven times, it's important for me to know I'm working with folks that are the real deal and I'm glad to say 40 HELLS fit the bill for sure. The band will have their own page up on this website soon, but for now please make sure you check them out on MYSPACE and their new blog HERE for tour dates and other news. More 40 HELLS 7" info coming soon!
SPRING INTO SUMMER 2009 - AND BEYOND!!!
So Newest Industry is not completely dead, however it has ceased to function on the level it has done in the past and the basic thinking behind it is that the label is now my Sunday afternoon hobby. Kind of like baking scones. You may see one seven inch release per year - if you're lucky - and if I have any spare cash. And as it happens the first Newest Industry release for a ridiculously long amount of time (the new FOUR LETTER WORD 7" EP "Staring Down The Barrel") is in stock now. It's a split release with Damaged Records and No Idea. It's limited to about 500 and something copies, and comes in three colours. For more information on this little plastic bundle of joy, please click on releases in the menu above. Some other things to note : I'm not really in a position to update bands gig and tour dates daily anymore, so your best bet for that information is to check out the relevant band's website or MySpace page (which you can find links to on their pages on this website)... RIP Lance Hahn.
