BEDFORD FALLS is a four piece rock / post-hardcore band from Cardiff, Wales, UK who list their many influences as FUGAZI, Q AND NOT U, HOT WATER MUSIC, GIRLS AGAINST BOYS, WHISKEYTOWN, SMART WENT CRAZY, DISMEMBERMENT PLAN, JAWBOX, AMERICAN MUSIC CLUB, LAMBCHOP, THE MINUTEMEN, ELLIOT SMITH, ACTIONSLACKS and THE WEAKERTHANS. They play what they would class as "melodic, melancholy punk rock" and started sometime in 2002. Some of their first gigs came about in the now legendary Oz Bar on St. Mary's Street, Cardiff - where lead singer Dr Tom was putting on weekly DIY punk rock / hardcore / emo gigs every Friday night. The band soon started to get more songs together, and in 2003 went and recorded two tracks for a demo ("Allergic Witness" and "Wire Act".) Later on in 2003, the idea of BEDFORD FALLS recording two new tracks to go on a split 7" with THE ENABLERS came about, and so they went into Prism Studios, Stoke-On-Trent to record "Sweetest Science" and "Call Me Old Fashioned But..." in January of 2004. the record came out soon after. In November 2004 the band did a small tour around the UK with Winnipeg, Canada's THE PAPERBACKS (who also named a song after the band on the Newest Industry compilation CD "A Compilation : 2002 - 2004) and to date they still play fairly regularly around Cardiff and Newport.
