- NRA (National Rifle Association, or NOT REALLY ANYTHING) is formed by Aziz, Jean, Gwynn and Pepijn. Their demo "Their First Session" gets positive reviews.
- NRA performs mostly in clubs, youth centres, on the moon and in squats.
- NRA comes to the attention of the German label Smash Hit Records. In September they record their debut "Is This For Real?" The album is produced by Bill Stevenson (BLACK FLAG, DESCENDENTS, ALL) and Stephen Egerton (ALL) who happen to be in the same studio at the time.
- "Is This For Real?" is released and gets good reviews. NRA goes into the studio with former ARTICLES OF FAITH guitarist Vic Bondi to record three songs for an EP that is released on the GAP label.
- The "Don't Know" EP comes out. The band tours in the Netherlands and Germany with ALLOY (Vic Bondi's band at that time). Guitarist Sven from HUMAN ALERT joins NRA. The band starts sessions to record "Surf City Amsterdam", again with Bondi as producer. The album is released on the Dutch Ignition label. NRA also records a split single with HUMAN ALERT, which is released through WRF Recordings.
- A busy year for NRA, with gigs in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. They record tracks for the cover compilations "Strange Notes!" (GERMS covers) and "Case Closed?" (HUSKER DU covers). The new album "Access Only" (Bitzcore label) contains eight new tracks, tracks from the first two EP's and "Case Closed?"
- In March the single "Fuel" is released. NRA can be found on the compilation album "Cheap Thrills", collaboration between Bitzcore and We Bite Records. Off Time Records releases "Access To Surf City Amsterdam Only", a 'best of' album for the US market. The band tours the US with HORACE PINKER and also releases the compilation EP "Chicago Vs Amsterdam" (Hopeless Records). Bitzcore re-releases "Is This For Real?"
- NRA signs to Virgin Records and records the album "Leaded". The track "Room For You" is the first single taken from the album. The band tours the Netherlands, Germany and France.
- NRA performs at the Tibetan Freedom Concert. Drummer Pepijn decides to leave the band. He is replaced by Tjeerd. In October the album "New Recovery" comes out, and is released on vinyl by the Flight 13 label. With the band BLUETIP, NRA tours the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland and Germany.
- The album "New Recovery" is released in the US (Gearhead Records) and Brazil (Peculio Discos). The band tours through Switzerland. In France they tour with French punk rockers THE BURNING HEADS. In Dec NRA starts recordings for a new album.
- By the end of August the band plays a show in Austin, Texas with US label mates the NEW BOMB TURKS. In September they embark on an extensive US tour. In October they finish off the recordings of their new album "Machine", released in 2003.
- With its sixth album "Machine", NRA returns to its punk rock roots and releases the album on various labels including Newest Industry, My First Sonny Weismuller and Dialectik. The album is released in 2004 in the US on Gearhead Records.
to 2007 - NRA play relatively infrequently around Europe but are still together and sound fantastic to this day.
