An Episode of Sparrows’ is a beautiful indie rock album. Its delicate sweet-tongued exhalations making for a wholly invigorating listen, and a regular mainstay in your stereo. And with such intelligent lyricism throughout they're a band that you feel you're getting to know better with every listen.
As tracks like "Bridge" and "Local Celebrities" provide a warm, leaf-shuffling soundtrack to the coming autumn months The Paperbacks are really the only hand you’ll need to hold - Review from Drowned In Sound...
This is the debut album from Winnipeg, Canada's THE PAPERBACKS that feature members of the long gone great power pop band THE BONADUCES (including Doug McLean who was also on PAINTED THIN's "Clear, Plausable Stories" album)... Basically, if you liked "Clear, Plausable Stories" this record will blow you away. The songwriting displayed on here is up there with these guys' past bands and proves once again that Canada has some of the most under rated bands this world has to offer.
Recorded and mixed by Jaret McNabb sometime in 2003.
Mastered by Dave Gardner at Magneto Mastering.
