When this came out it was FOUR LETTER WORD's first release in over three years. The title track "Crimewave!", a political 'Spycore' number, that defies definition but has classic written all over it, is followed by a straight-up, fast poppy, punk track ("Turning The Screw"). Flip the record over and early 80's U.S. influenced hardcore comes into play on "Friends in High Places", and things finally come to a head with a more anthemic traditional U.K. punk influenced delivery (on "Johnny Foreigner") which has an almost STIFF LITTLE FINGERS feel to it, proving once more that FOUR LETTER WORD are a band that will never fit neatly into one specific genre. *Nerd fact : tracks (1) and (4) are different versions to the ones on the "Like Moths To a Flame" album. *Nerd fact 2 : This 7" was recorded specifically as a BENEFIT for the band so they could trademark the name, due to legal issues reagrding a major label boy band with a similar name, dating back to their BYO years.

Recorded March 8th and 9th, 2004 at The Whitehouse by Martin Nichols.
