Newest Industry Records


	Newest Industry began in the Spring of 2002. We started at the wrong time, just when everyone got really into downloading music on a regular basis, and CD's were on their way out. Five and a half years later and a massive, ridiculous amount of money lost, Newest Industry Records is no longer functioning like it used to do. No longer is the label booking tours or ploughing thousands of pounds into recording and advertising. Although there were good times, there were also a fair amount of frustrating bad times. By the Spring of 2006 I had practically given it up for good (except for a one final release, and very low key involvement with the J CHURCH / OFF WITH THEIR HEADS split 7") until I met someone in the Summer of 2007 who made me feel like there was actually some hope at the end of the tunnel and inspired me to start caring again. Since then I have felt somewhat rejuvenated and shall be maintaining the label indefinitely, on a "hobby" level. This means small runs of 7" vinyl only, maybe once a year. Maybe less. Definitely probably not more. Newest Industry is now my equivalent to smoking crack on a Sunday afternoon. It's expensive and will eventually kill me - But I just can't do without it.
